Edith Wharton (born Edith Newbold Jones; 1862 - 1937) was an American novelist, short story writer, and designer.[1] Wharton combined an insider's view of American aristocracy with a powerful prose style. Her novels and short stories realistically portrayed the lives and morals of the late nineteenth century, an era of decline and faded wealth. She won the Pulitzer Prize for Literature in 1921, the first woman to receive this honor. Ethan Frome was a book published in 1911 by the Pulitzer Prize-winning American author Edith Wharton. It is set in the fictitious town of Starkfield, Massachusetts. It deals with the aftermath of a tragic accident as it impacted the complications of a secret love affair. The novel was adapted into a film, Ethan Frome, in 1993.--Wikipedia EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION internally & externally for this facsimile of the original novella published in 1911.

Reviews
On Dec 7 2004, Pazzo Books said:
Other than an unmitigated desire to smack the whiny lady upstairs, Ethan Frome had virtually no impact on me. While most books I really detest are extremely long, Wharton managed to flip the switch in what is basically a novella. Impressive.
