About This Item

Nationalmuseet, Kobenhavn, 1980 Book. Good. Hardcover. 1st Edition. English and Danish Text; Hardcover (with dust jacket); 22 x 30.3 cm; 1.436 Kg; 260 pages with colour and black and white illustration throughout ; Used with signs of wear on the dust jacket that has tears and his chipped. Signs of a sticker removed from bottom of the dust jacket spine. Interior in very good condition apart from a previous owner sticker glued to the front free endpaper.; "By presenting in this catalogue all the extra-european artifacts which were included in our collection during the 17th and 18th centuries, we hope to satisfy this demand. The book is so arranged that essential parts can be read with profit by amateurs of art and cultural history. Few other ethnographic museums are in possession of such a large number of specimens whose museum history can with certainty be traced backed to the 17th and 18th centuries. This catalogue is meant to be a tool for the further exploration of our collection. The description we have given of each object is restricted to a bare minimum. We are aware, however, that some of these descriptions may be incorrect. We do this in the hope that our readers will respond by correcting our mistakes and by giving supplementary information." extract by the foreword by Torben Lundbaek, November 1979..
