[3], 324-400 p., frontispiece portrait of John Smeaton, civil engineer, and 1 additional leaf of a plate: music; 22 cm. Later (possibly 20th-century) dark blue cloth spine with gilt-tooled spine title; marbled paper over boards. The second plate is a view of "An ancient place of tournament at Senlis." Pages are untrimmed; 4 leaves are unopened. In addition to reports on the pardoning of two men involved in the mutiny on the Bounty and the execution of three others, includes: Remarks on Slavery by Adam Smith -- Remarks made in a trip to Paris in 1792 -- The Blatant Beast: A Poem by Moses Mendez [1st appearance of this poem by Moses Mendes] -- Critique on Somerset House, London, by a foreign architect -- Remarks on an ancient place of tournament at Senlis, built by James, Duke of Vendome -- State Papers related to the French Revolution -- Occasional Address, and Elegy: The Dead Beggar by Charlotte Smith -- A 3-part setting of The Sicilian Mariner's Hymn to the Virgin. In Near Fine Condition: light foxing along the edges of a few leaves; clean and tight.
