INCLUDING A HUGE COMPENDIUM OF THE OCCULT ARTS, WHICH COMPRISES 576 PAGES IN ALL, WITH STUNNING WORKS OF ART

If you are looking for a book with an extensive compendium of the occult arts with history and divinatory practices that date back centuries, this is one of the best made. Many were printed by offshoot printing houses and lacked a print date. However, this is a genuine date-stamped 1938 printing that has been very well-kept and is one of the nicest I have owned or seen from 38'. A masterful book that encompasses everything from Astrology to numerology and even includes Napoleon book of fate. These are hard to come by, especially in this condition. They don't make them this good anymore; I don't think they ever will. I would snag this one before it's gone...

PREFACE
"The desire to know what lies hidden in Tomorrow is common to everyone and is one of the most persistent things in all our history. There have always been prophets; the darkest hours in the Story of Man have been those when the prophets were silent. For Tomorrow has ever been the phantom haunting man's mind, and he has always realized that its utter incalculability offers a menace to his future security.
This is natural for a thinking animal. Take away the possibility of some eventual good fortune, and what remains? Would any of us work blindly on unless we felt there was something worthwhile at the end of our labors? We must satisfy our minds on that score, and we do manage to do so because it is from hope that all our best efforts spring. Over time, various sciences and sub-sciences sprang up that professed to enable men to peep into the distant future. With some of these we shall have to deal in this book. No one would be foolish enough to pretend that these Sciences began their existence as highly intellectual pursuits. The early stages of all the Sciences are confused with unimaginable superstitions and the wildest of speculations. But gradually, the higher types of mind began to discover the natural laws that were trying to gain expression. Immediately after that happened, solid foundations were laid, and progress became possible. Astrology, which is probably the oldest Science known to man, had its beginnings in those countries where shepherds and their like, having leisure to watch the majestic procession of the heavens, began to ask the great question, " Are not these things we see, these stars, of a similar order to ourselves, and are they not there for a purpose? " Out of that form of questioning was born most of what we know today. For the moment some ancient shepherd turned his mind in that direction, a wonderful truth became increasingly apparent, and that truth was simply that all we know is part of a Whole, that the vast Universe, of which the world and all the people on it are a part, has certain laws which all the parts obey. So it began to be understood that not one man living was outside the bounds of a Call it the Law of God, of Nature, or what you will that if only one could get an inkling of the workings of that Law, human life could be regulated."

I have used the oracles in this book for many years and have never been misled. It is uncanny if, like me, you are pragmatic.
