Magnificently bound in full, royal blue crushed morocco by Riviere & Son, wil elaborate gilt decorations to the front and rear board. The spine is rendered in six compartments with raised bands, decorated and lettered in gilt. The front board depicts a wonderfully executed full figure portrat of Samuel Pepys rendered in coloured leather onlays framed in gilt. Aqua marbled endpapers; all edges gilt.
