Two volumes. The Third Edition but possibly First English Edition as it is translated from the German. The first attempt (in 1874) to present the facts of human evolution to a wider circle of reader with some revisions and updates, and rebuttals to expected criticism in the Third Edition (in 1876).
Vol 1 467 pages with 11 Plates, 162 Woodcuts and 11 Genetic Tables. Book in good condition ex library with sticker on front cover and inside front cover, stamp on title page and margin pages 97 and 121, binding is split in places but pages retained except plate 4 and pages 465-7 which are loose. and light tanning. Cover has half split on front and some wear (see photos).

Book in good+ condition ex library with sticker on front cover and inside front cover, stamps on title page and margin pages 233, 329 and 409, binding showing inside front cover but all held, and light tanning.
