A writer, research, and public speaker based in Boston's South End, Barnet tells the story of sugar merchant Robert A. Barnet (1853-1933) and the Cadet Theatricals, a Boston Brahman militia that raised money for an armory to protect the city's elite from immigrant uprisings by putting on annual, amateur, and outrageous theatrical shows.
