Per Henry Holt's practice of designating first editions, no additional printings indicated on the copyright page. The pipe cleaner characters are back in vibrant color, integrated everywhere into the text, meeting adventure after adventure, including a hurricane, which is hauntingly presented with streaks of wind and rain over three pages. African American dialect throughout. Includes priced dust jacket in archival Brodart sleeve. 46 pp. 9 1/4" x 6 1/2". Tight, unmarked copy with light shelf wear, primarily along bottom edges of boards, and faint age-toning near extremities. Hinges sturdy. Very light internal age toning with bright colors. Dust jacket moderately age toned with light chipping and small area of loss to head of spine panel. $1.50 price present. A presentable copy of an important Black Americana collectible.
