Van Hoostraten, acknowledgements and foreword by author, bibliography and index. The text is illustrated with black-and-white photography. Black coloured boards with gilt coloured titles to the backstrip. Photographic dustwrapper with yellow and white coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. Black-and-white photograph of expedition members and friends to the rear dustwrapper panel. An expedition set out from Witwatersrand University to look for the legendary tribe of river Bushmen who lived in the vast swamps of the Okavango Basin (a land locked area between the Kalahari Desert in Botswana and southern Africa). The author, the only journalist on the team, recounts the exciting journey and of the discovery of 14 surviving members of the Tannekwe people. Softening to the head and to the heel of the backstrip and rubbing to the lower book edges. Dust marks to the top textblock edge and age toning of the other textblock edges and of the internal pages.
