Francklin. 1755. 8vo. 20cm, fourth edition, [ii],3 173,[2]p., ads., wanting pages 1 2 & 15 16, & the frontis, rubricated title with vignette, 15 engraved plates (missing plate 3), a few plates with early amateurish colouring, full dark brown contemporary calf, raised bands, no label, shake, several sections loose, worn copy, as is (hos/gar). ~ Sixteen fables by English dramatist, Edward Moore (1712 1757) first published in 1744. Each fable is preceded by an illustration by Francis Hayman (1708 1776) although illustration to Fable Three is missing.
