Tall oversize (8.5" x 13.5") hardcover book has green cloth-covered boards and white paper spine label with black lettering. Scratch in surface only of cloth on back cover and on bottom of front at spine. Facsimile of illustrated manuscript, faithfully reproducing color variations unique to the vellum original. Printed by Akademische Druck und Verlagsanstalt. 40 pages with full-color illustrations & calligraphy in French by Marie Angel. No wear to edges of book; corners crisp; pages clean and bright. Color illustrated dust jacket has a few light bend on front. Accompanying 16-page booklet of English translations by Sir Edward Marsh of the 17 fables has no wear and crisp corners. Pages clean. Matching green cloth-covered slipcase has a few surface scratches and a very small stain.
