About This Item

Angsana Books. Singapore. 1995. Angsana Books. 1995. Paperback. First edition. Presentation copy from the author to Robin Dalton, "Dear Robin, this is my first published story. it comes to you with thanks for listening to my problems and gratitude for your efoorts in trying to get me published in London. A dream i have not given up on. Kind Regards, Owen. (unfortunately i was not consulted on the editing of this story and it is atrocious. I apologize for the changes I have made to it, but I'd prefer you to have a marked version than think me illiterate!) Unfortunately I won't see you in Singapore..." Lots of corrections in the author's own hand. A clean and sound copy. Robin Dalton lived to 101 and had an extraordinary life and career. As a literary agent she represented Edna O'Brien, John Osborne, Iris Murdoch, Ben Travers, George Orwell, Margaret Drabble, B. S. Johnson, Bernice Rubens and many more. She also produced films, spied for Thai Government and for over five years dated the cousin and best man of Prince Philip. Born in Australia, she spent most of her adult life in London, surfed until she was 96 and went on entertaining people of all ages in her luxurious Hampstead flat until she died.
