Pictorial endpapers; color pictorial title page, 30 full-page color illustrations and numerous smaller color and b&w illustrations. A near fine copy with spine ends lightly rubbed in a near fine jacket (light edge wear, clean one-inch tear at center of lower front panel). Signed by the artist, two-time Greenaway Medalist Michael Foreman, and with a bookplates signed by the author, Monty Python founding member, Terry Jones, laid-in.
First edition, having been issued the year before the US edition. 30 original fairy tales – all filled with humor and magic – by the wonderfully witty Terry Jones. Foreman's fantastic watercolors and pen-and-ink drawings bring out the joy and enchantment in these marvelous tales. The first collaboration by this incredible team who would go on to create The Saga of Erik the Viking and other wonderful volumes.
