About This Item
McClure, Phillips & Co., 1903. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good. FIRST American edition (earlier British issue was published 1901). A Very Good volume with bright gilt titles. Blue cloth is soiled on rear panel. The crown and foot of spine cloth is just starting to fray. Both interior hinges have a bit of exposed webbing (paper having pulled away), but still a very tight text block. Table of Contents page at gutter (only) has foxed slightly. Lovely publishers deckled fore-edge. A few spots of scattered foxing to margins (does not detract). 271 pages plus ten pages of publishers 'adverts' at rear. Protected in stiff mylar.
