Illustrator: Photographic. 750 g.; (7), VIII-XIV, (2), 368 pages, list of photographs, acknowledgements, notes and sources, selected bibliography and indexes. Map illustrated endpapers, showing the major battles, of the Pacific region, at the end of WWII. The text is illustrated with two inserts, of 16 pages each, of black-and-white photography/maps. Red coloured cloth covered boards with black titles to the backstrip. Bumping and rubbing to the backstrip edges and book corners and rubbing to the lower edges. Minor fading to the backstrip and rubbing to the book corners. Browning, marks, stains and faint foxing to the text block edges. The front textblock edge is untrimmed. Previous owners ex libris plate is affixed to the verso of the free front end paper. Previous owners name to the top right-hand corner of the half title page, the ink has run slightly. The book has been over open between pages 110 and 111 and the underlying webbing is visible. Light browning to the internal text. A history of the fall of Japan at the end of World War II.
