The foot of the spine is a bit torn, and the rear cover has a couple of tears and creases on the rear cover. Damping along the top edge of the text block, thin towards the front and heavier towards the back. SIGNED by the author on the title page. "Submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in the faculty of Political Science, Columbia University.
