Horizon Press, 1963. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. Refregier, Anton. Red cloth spine over orange paper-covered boards, lettered in gilt to spine with gilt decoration to front board, brown endpapers, 8-5/8" tall, 192 pp. Owner's bookplate to front endpaper, else near fine; dust jacket with one taped tear to top of front panel, moderate rubbing to white background, price intact. From the Greenwich Village restaurant The Cookery, the authors present recipes "to be prepared at home, where there are cooks, not chefs." The Cookery ran for thirty years, and had three locations. It closed & reopened in the mid-1980s under new ownership, although Barney Josephson remained a part owner.
