MALAN, A.H. FAMOUS HOMES OF GREAT BRITAIN AND THEIR STORIES. Three volumes. New York: G.P. Putnam's, 1900, 1902, and 1902. 4to. Publisher's cloth. First appearing as articles in "Pall Mall Magazine", each chapter details the stories behind the construction of famous British homes. The authors of the chapters drew upon county histories, papers in the various antiquarian and field-club societies' transactions and private family memoirs in an effort to obtain the full history of the building described. Each volume is well illustrated with over two hundred illustrations in each. Volumes one and thr are bound in red decorated cloth, volume two is bound in blue cloth. Spines darkened, chipping to extremities.
