London: Hutchinson & Co. (Publishers) Ltd., 1934. Hardcover. Good. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Williams, Florence. No date or edition stated but 'From Far-Away Fuji' was first published in 1934. There is a Sunday School presentation inscription dated 1941 to ffep, along with a small bookseller's label to pastedown. Orange cloth with titling and decoration in black to spine and upper board. Boards grubby, corners and spine tips pushed. Hinge cracked at rear and webbing exposed but text block firm and holding well. Contents clean without annotations, foxing or other markings. 224 pp; b/w frontis and other b/w plates and illustrations in text. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. The children's story opens in Tokyo where an old Japanese lady is saying goodbye to her granddaughters, Teruko and Katsuko, who are about to leave for England with their governess Miss Dacres. A scarce children's title. Orders professionally packed, tracked and/or signed for, and insured.
