New York: E. B. Treat & Company, 1867. First Edition. Decorated & gilt-stamped cloth. Very Good. steel engragings. 8vo, blind-stamped green cloth with derpiction of monitor in gilt on cover ("Our Navy 1861 to 1865") and copious gilt lettering on spine, illustrated with steel engravings, 609 pages. Light rubbing to corners; slightly shaken, previous owner's inscription on front pastedown. Pages generally clean though there is some foxing to the steel engravings and occasional browned offset of engraved images onto otherwise clean pages. Overall a much better than average copy of this Scarce, large and informative summary about Union Naval Officers during the Civil War.
