About This Item
Edinburgh: Archibald Constable; London: Longman, Hurst, Rees, Orme and Brown, and White, Cochrane, and Co, 1813. 1st ed. Hardcover. Very Good. xx, 230p. Old (original?) paper-covered boards backed in blue cloth. 27cm. Paper title-label on backstrip unvenly darkened and worn. Chipping and wear at cover corners. Mostly modest foxing, heaviest on a few leaves at beginning and end of book. Split in rear endpaper along hinge appears to have been reglued. Unrelated clipping on "The Migration of Birds" taped in at two corners on blank leaf preceding title-page. This posthumously-published work was edited by William Elford Leach (1791-1836) from a manuscript in his possession.
