La Strada is a 1954 Fellini film about a young woman who is sold to a brutish strongman and their journey on the road together. It won the first-ever Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. The American Film Institute called it "one of the most influential films ever made", and it placed fourth in the British Film Institute's list of cinema's top 10 films.
