About This Item
New York: Bantam, 1992. hardcover. Good /Good. Daniel Pelavin. Good book in like dust jacket, now in new removable protective cover. Dust jacket has light wear, a small closed tear on the back, and a fold on the rear flap. Black boards with gold print on spine. Prior owner's name on front end paper, marked out. Pages are clean and unmarked. Bantam / Mystery Guild Book Club hardcover with dust jacket, Mystery Guild #1257784, ISBN: 9780739498323, 303 pages. 8vo (8.5"" x 5.75"") Book club hard cover reprint of trade paperback reissue. Text and introductions are that of the paperback Rex Stout Library, although without the ""bonus"" cartoons. Introduction to Fer-de-Lance by Loren D. Estleman; introduction to The League of Frightened Men by Robert Goldsborough. These are the first two Nero Wolfe mysteries. I love the opening scene of Fer-de-Lance, with Wolfe sampling all the legal beers he can find when Prohibition ends, trying to find one he likes.
