New York: Poseidon Press, 1982. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Fine/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. First edition first printing. Hardback book is tight clean and square. Boards sharp and clean, gilt perfect. Text block clean, with white edges. Feels very lightly read. Minor bump to foot of spine. Previous owners book plate to front pastedown, partially hidden by front jacket flap. Fine condition. Jacket is in very good condition, but is smart. The fore-edge corners are a little rubbed. There are two 12mm closed tears to the top edge of the front panel. There is a rub to the head of the front joint. The spine ends are crimped, and there is a 8 mm tear with associated crease to the head. The rear panel has a couple of very small rubs. For grading accuracy books are photographed without a protective book cover. This book is fitted with a non adhesive archival quality book protector to make a quality addition to your collection. Note we do not use stock images, the book pictured is the book described. A solid copy of this collectible first edition first printing title, that feels great in the hand and looks very nice on the shelf in the archival fitted cover. Uncommon in the UK.
Synopsis
Fevre Dream is a vampire novel written by George R. R. Martin and published in 1982. It is set on the antebellum Mississippi River beginning in 1857, and has been described by some as "Bram Stoker meets Mark Twain. " The book was first published in the US by Poseidon Press in 1982. It was notably reprinted by Orion Books in 2001 as volume 13 of their Fantasy Masterworks series, and was nominated for both the Locus and World Fantasy Awards in 1983.
