About This Item

New York: Simon & Schuster, 1940. First Edition, First Printing. Hardcover. Ludwig Bemelmans. A whimsical find for a collector.

A First Edition/First Printing of "Fifi" with the original dust jacket.

There is some wear to the board tops and ends along with a very light toning to pages edges and some creases along spine, else fine. Book is bound tight and illustrations are bright still and clean. The pictorial boards are clean and bright with a light scratch across the back pictorial board. Paste down boards are clean and bright with no wrinkling depicting the mischievous dog and cat characters patterned throughout.

Dust jacket has some edge wear with chipping across the spine. First edition price of $2.00 present in bottom right corner of dust jacket. There is a vintage bookplate on the archival wrapper, but nothing attached to the dust jacket itself (archival wrapper is removable). No bookplates of any kind on the actual dust jacket or book itself.

An overall fantastic copy of the this true first edition that will genuinely please a collector.
