Lacks four leaves, corners are dog-eared with some tears in inner margin. ; 4to; Sewn pamphlet, incomplete, pages 3-24 and 1-6 of [2], 24, 8, 33-34 (also seen as [2], 34 pages). **Wing F-889, in part. "The Hard Case of Protestant Subjects..." is lacking the first leaf. "An answer to a late pamphlet entitled, `A short scheme of the usurpations of the crown of England &c'...". "An humble and hearty address to all English Protestants in the present army" published by Mr. Samuel Johnson, 1686. "Several reasons for [corrected to against in ink] the establishing of a standing army, and dissolving the militia" completes the first section. "A Discourse of Magistracy; of Prerogative by Divine Right; of Obedience, and of the Laws" is complete. "The Definition of a Tyrant, by... Abraham Cowley... in his discourse concerning the government of Oliver Cromwell" is complete. "A letter to the King, when Duke of York, perswading(sic) him to return to the Protestant religion... by an Old Cavalier" is lacking its last leaf. COPAC states that "while all sources agree Leoline Jenkins wrote at least one letter to the King on this subject, some sources feel this particular letter signed with a pseud. is really by Jenkins (cf. McAlpine Cat. and Wing) and others feel Philanax Verax is a seperate person (cf. BM and UCB Author-title Cat.) **This collection is lacking the title page and the first and last two leaves of text. .
