About This Item

Genesis Publications, 1984. Limited Numbered First Edition. Leather & Cloth Boards. Fine/No Jacket as Issued. A beautiful full leather Limited Numbered First Edition signed by former Beatle George Harrison and author Derek Taylor. Numbered 1026 of only 2,000 Limited Editions, the only edition of this book. Bound in brown half-calf and brown cloth; title in gilt letters on red background, gilt line decoration on the calf and front cover sailing-ship design; all page edges are gold gilt. All in fine unread condition in a matching brown cloth slipcase that is also in fine condition. This is Derek Taylor's colorful autobiography, packed with glorious pieces of memorabilia from his early days as a journalist, to his term as Beatles publicist and great friend and beyond. Written by Derek Taylor and edited and annotated by George Harrison, it is a lasting testament to the genius, wit and insight of two great men. An early working title had been 'And We All Shine On' but the title was finally taken from a Liverpudlian expression. FIFTY YEARS ADRIFT was the subject of glowing reviews including a fabulous one in The New York Times, while The Beatles Book Monthly described it as, 'Probably the best Beatles-related volume ever'. A beautiful set.
