Written by British novelist, satirist and critic, Aubrey Menen, who was known for exploring ideas of nationalism and cultural differences between his Indian ancestry and British upbringing. 'The Fig Tree' tells the story of scientist Harry Wesley, who is tasked with saving the planet from overpopulation by inventing the perfect oral contraceptive. He begins to make important advancements, receiving public acclaim and even a blessing from the Vatican, however, things soon start to go wrong. In the publisher's original paperback binding. Externally, very smart, with light creasing o the extremities and the occasional mark to wraps. Spine is slightly cocked. Ink initials to the front cover. Small tear to the tail of the front joint. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean. Very Good Indeed
