Covers very worn and wrinkled, dampstaining, gold title and decoration on spine, front cover and spine cover detaching from text block, front free end pages and frontis missing, one sheet (four pages) detached, end papers worn and wrinkled, detaching from front board, damp stain to foredge of first few pages, else pages only very lightly tanned and foxed and in good condition. Binding poor, covers fair, pages good. Handful of black and white illustrations. 326 pages and six pages of ads. Published much earlier than most copies listed as "first edition." . Fair-.
