About This Item
Boston: Lee and Shepard, Publishers, (N.d). Turn of the century reprint. Octavo, green cloth with blind stamped borders and attractive gilt decorated spine depicting a boy soldier on horseback, pp. 326. A volume in Adams "Army and Navy Stories" series. In this novel for boys the central figure is a young soldier in the civil war. Adams wrote under several pen names. His Oliver Optic books for young people were popular in nineteenth century America. Pencil name on endpaper, page edges a bit darkened, corners and spine ends just slightly frayed, else a very good plus copy; very handsome spine-out on the shelf!.
