About This Item

Chicago; (1911): National Bible House. Octavo. 95 pages. 16 unnumbered leaves of plates. Cover title: White Slavery Horrors of the Traffic. The Greatest Crime in the World's History. This book was most likely intended as a promotional item sold at newspaper stands or train stations to help promote the sale of its larger version of 481 pages. (See the table of contents for those who acquired the larger book). The last page is addressed to book agents who are told of salesmen who are making $8 to $17 a day for selling these books. Bound in pictorial paper wraps lettered in black, chipping to spine and edges, leaves from page 67-81 have a light damp stain. Very good.
