About This Item

Boston: Ginn & Company, The Athenaeum Press, 1897. Hardcover. Poor. This is a shabby but complete copy of a late Victorian primer. The front free end paper has been removed, but the rest of the interior is complete, showing writing on p.5 and visible handling and use. The covers are also worn at edges and corners. Synopsis: This primer provides lessons in reading and writing based on lessons about animals and plants. It is arranged by seasons -- starting with "Autumn Lessons" and ending in summer. Interestingly, it includes a number of pages with coloured photographic illustrations. An interesting little item.
