Vintage original press photo. Valentina Tereshkova, first woman in space. 1963. 7 x 10 in. Black and white photo of Tereshkova and four uniformed cosmonauts at Lenin's Mausoleum. Press photo of Valentina Tereshkova, famed cosmonaut and the first woman in space, along with other cosmonauts from the Soviet Vostock space missions including Yuri Gagarin (second from right). During her solo mission on Vostock 6, Tereshkova spent almost three days alone in space. Stamped November 13, 1963 on back. Pencil inscription on back identifies Tereshkova. Very good.
