Hardback, 1933, first edition, published by Methuen & Co. Ltd., London, 182 pages and 8-page publisher catalogue at rear.
A scarce first edition copy. Octavo/8vo. Measures around 6 7/8" by 4 5/8" by 3/4". No dust jacket. Burnt orange cloth binding, embossed writing and pictorial detail to front board, gilt lettering and detail to spine. Some scuffing and marking, signs of shelf-wear, small tears at base of spine, bumped corners. Book has forward tilt. Slackness to binding, cracking to front inner hinge, front free endpaper has been torn out although all other pages are present and attached. Page edges browned, foxed and marked. Foxing and marking to page surfaces, a couple of torn/missing corners and the odd dog-eared corner. No inscriptions, underlining, marginalia, etc. See pictures for further information.
