London: Harmsworth Brothers, Limited, 1900 Red cloth; black and gilt blindstamped lettering, decoration, and cover illustration; beveled edges. Copiously illustrated, in black-and-white, "mainly from photographs and authentic sketches taken in South Africa." Large folding map with Contents pages. With laid-in prior owner list describing repairs needed to various pages. Folding map and small closed tears at base of four other pages were subsequently neatly and carefully repaired with clear tape; tape is now discolored but intact. Moderate rubbing to cover extremities, with most wear to spine tips. Spine moderately sunned. Two tiny water spots to lower front board alongside gutter. Otherwise clean, tight, and unworn. Size: Folio - over 12" - 15" tall
