Random House, Printed and Bound at the Lakeside Press, 1952. Hardcover. Very Good. 0x0x0. Collectible first and only Flair annual published shortly after the demise of its mid-century, short-lived counterpart, Flair magazine, "celebrated not only because of its design and editorial production by European art director Federico Pallavicini but also because of its lavish production. It was the resulting cost of production that killed the magazine." Hardcover format. Densely illustrated with numerous die-cuts, gate-folds, fold-outs, etc., and featuring surprises at every page, notably a tipped-in booklet by Katherine Anne Porter, an interactive, 7-page Salvador Dali feature titled "Mimicry of Nature" and a Walker Evans feature on Santa Monica with photos. 229 pp. 13 3/8" x 10". Tight, unmarked copy with near crisp extremities. Hinges sturdy. Colors to front and back panels bright and vivid with flawless gilt decorations. A superbly presentable copy of an important mid-century masterpiece. Photographs of or additional information about this item are available on request. All inquiries answered promptly.
