About This Item
Vantage Press, 1973. Very Good. First Edition, hardcover 8vo, 44pp, printed pink dust jacket, every page a poem plus introduction. Vintage poetry about black people's lives and experiences, and "what it means to be black in America." Benskina was a Panamanian choreographer and was a regular in touring "Afro-Cuban" performances and dances, notably exaggerating the black and brown-skinned members of the troupe. Very Good Plus, light rubbing and foxing, tiny scuffs at jacket spine ends. Uncommon progressive poetry.
