First edition. G. Bell & Sons. London. 1931. Octavo. 688pp. Frontispiece portrait, 8 further plates. 2 large folding coloured maps. Original light green cloth, gilt to spine. Some mottling to upper edge of lower board. Small ink spots to p.539. A nice firm copy with no tears or misfolds to the maps.
Salmon, Charles Edgar (1872-1930) This work was published posthumously the year after his death, being completed by W. H. Pearsall who contributed the preface. Salmon's herbarium was bequeathed to the British Museum.
This copy was from the private collection of Quentin Oliver Newton Kay (1939-2017)
