Marbled endpapers, very occasional light spotting, later bookplate of Ronald and Jay Hamilton to REP. The first edition of English poet and lawyer Charles Stuart Calverley's (1831-1884) final published work; a collection of parodic poems that combine academic scholarship with witty verse. A sequel to his immensely popular Verses and Translations (1862), Fly Leaves repeated that success, selling 18,000 copies by 1890. . First edition. 8vo.
