First published as Volume X in the ornithological series. 256 pages, plus 31 hand colored plates. There is an additional engraved portrait frontispiece, as well as a hand colored vignette on the decorative title page. Top edge of text block is gilded. Tissue guards protect the colored plates. Most leaves remain un-opened. Red cloth covers with gilt stamped lettering, and blind and gilt stamped decoration. Covers show scuffs, rubbing, and a little wear. There is a two inch closed tear along the joint of the lower board at spine. Book plates and notations on end leaves. First and last leaves are a little darkened.
