About This Item
308pp incl index. Uniformly yellowing. Clean and tightly bound with no markings, annotations or inscriptions.
Carl Fogarty - Foggy to his legion of fans around the globe is quite simply, a Superbike legend and arguably the best ever motorbike rider from Britain. He is also something of a sporting rarity. Not only is he a consistent British world champion, but superstar status has failed to affect his honest and down to earth approach to life.
He is the major box office attraction of the increasingly popular World Superbike championship., which he has won a record four times, amongst other world crowns. In 1999, an amazing 120,000 fans turned up to watch him race at Brands Hatch. Foggy is a typically frank account of the transformation from a shy and awkward teenager to the self-assured celebrity and Superbike legend. It details the dangers of his sport, personal tragedies, the hell-raising years and the sport's unique sex appeal. But Fogarty is essentially a family man and he has retained his roots in the Lancashire town of Blackburn, where he lives with wife Michaela and his two daughters.
The book provide a unique insight into the big money deals that have made him a multi-millionaire and the problems that go hand in hand with such wealth. Track rivals are not spared the forthright, Fogarty treatment in some startling revelations about the cut and thrust world of his profession. Most of all though, he displays an ability to laugh at himself, one of the enduring charms that makes Carl Fogarty's life story a roller coaster ride of humour and emotion.

You will find the LOCATION of our Bookstore on Google. ALL our books are thoroughly cleaned. All books with dust jackets/ wraps are completely covered in 50 or 75 micron High Density PolyEthylene (= "plastic" = archival acetate film), as are books without dust jackets costing more than US$20. Soft-covers and hard-covers without Dj s are covered in adhesive plastic. While we have neither insects nor dampness in our shop, you might find that the total plastic cover keeps both at bay. Covering the whole book means that the common edge-wear described by so many dealers is mostly absent in our books. Any "plastic" is easily removable, it is not adhered to the book nor to the dust jacket. We do not use sellotape nor any other tape which discolours. We restore books where necessary and describe ONLY EXCEPTIONS to a perfect state. Faults in expensive books are described in huge detail. WHEN RESTORED the majority of "faults'' are visible only with great difficulty and certainly NOT in an image. To avoid misleading you we include few images. Please be guided by the very full descriptions. If no faults are described in a cheaper book, please be guided by the Condition. RESTORATION SERVICE. We restore any book younger than 1800 making your grotty, broken old books look like beautifully-cared-for precious old books. DUST JACKETS IN FACSIMILE. We provide colour copies of any DJ in our stock. Please ask for quotes, images & descriptions. We pride ourselves that THIS IS A VERY SPECIAL BOOKSH0P:- THE CROSSROADS OF CIVILIZATIONS PAST; REFUGE OF ALL THE ARTS AGAINST THE RAVAGES OF TIME; AN ARMOURY OF FEARLESS TRUTH AGAINST WHISPERING RUMOUR; INCESSANT TRIUMPH OF THE RIGHT-TO-KNOW.
