WHITE, Walter. On Foot through Tyrol in the Summer of 1855. London: Chapman and Hall, 1856. 1st ed. viii, 316 pp. Rebacked, orig. cloth laid down, top half of spine retained, else very good. White, who wrote many travel books, was one of the first to call attention to the eastern Alps. He describes climbing through the mountains led by a local guide.
