About This Item
privately printed, 1949. Very Good Plus. Vintage photographs of Forbes Field in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in 1949, depicting a baseball game between the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Brooklyn Dodgers. All photographs with ink notations on both sides, one vaguely hinting at the batter at the plate, a blurry Jackie Robinson. The players and the majority of the field are barely visible, but the images do capture good views along the third baseline and behind the plate. The Dodgers walloped the Pirates, 15-3, Robinson had 3 runs and 3 hits. Black/white, silver gelatin snapshots with deckle edges, all 3.25 x 4.5 inches, single-weight, small borders. Very Good Plus, a few tiny creases, light rubbing.
