About This Item
London / Melbourne / New York: Quartet Books, 1984. First Edition. Hardcover. Fine/Very Good+. Publisher's black cloth, blindstamped lettering on upper board and spine; full-color photo-illustrated dust jacket; folio; unpaginated, approx. pp. 150, with full-color photo-illustrations throughout. Inscribed to Elaine Kaufman (1929-2010), beloved restauranteur to NYC's stars and scoundrels, on the half-title page ("December 1984 / To Elaine / May all our dreams come true. / Glorya and Murray"). Book is fine, appearing new. Dust jacket faintly scratched and scuffed. An excellent copy. Elaborately staged fashion photography from the 1980s, unironically capturing the decade's aesthetics, "passion!", "glamour!", and profound silliness. It's a crying shame on Urban Outfitters that they haven't put up the dough to produce a second edition. Just saying.
