Royal octavo (9 1/2" x 6 1/4") bound in original publisher's with gilt lettering to spine and pictorial to cover in original pictorial jacket. Photographs by Lee Boltin. First edition. Gorenstein has written an orderly factual account of Mexico s entire prehistory, with occasional forays into other places like Copan and Tikal. However, Gorenstein took the delicate gossamer iridescent hummingbird wings of Mesoamerican history and cast them in drab concrete.
