A reprint of the first edition of this work by Charles Langbridge Morgan. A fantastic successor to Portrait in a Mirror, comparable for the beauty in the writing and the evocative scenes and delineated characters, as well as for its philosophical purpose.Morgan often described his novels as being about "art, love, and death" and the relations between them. With the unclipped dustwrapper. In the original publisher's cloth binding, with the titles stamped in gilt to the spine. Externally lovely with only minor shelfwear and minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine. The dustwrapper is unclipped and smart with only slight shelfwear and a minor chipping to the head of the front wrap, as well as sunning to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean. Near Fine
