A lovely copy of the twelfth publication by the Cheloniidae Press, printed by master printer Harold Patrick McGrath, a visual feast for bird lovers and abecedary enthusiasts alike. Deluxe Issue, one of 50 numbered copies specially bound and signed by the artist, this being copy no.13. Octavo (22cm); marbled paper-covered boards and vellum backstrip, with titles stamped in gilt on spine (bound by Gray Parrot), with text printed letterpress in two colors on Rives lightweight; illustrated with 26 wood engravings of birds from Auk to Zigzag Heron, arranged alphabetically, with a hand-lettered alphabet in different colors above each engraving. Together with an additional suite containing the 26 wood engravings by Alan James Robinson, each numbered and signed and housed in a beige canvas cloth chemise; the whole housed in the original matching cloth clamshell case, with title label printed on marbled paper mounted at upper spine. A Fine copy.
