Fra Filippo Lippi was a 15th century Florentine painter; the author seems to have created a fictional narrative surrounding events in his life. Nicely decorated green cloth cover with gilt and white cover decoration and gilt spine lettering and decoration (spine lettering is dull, but still very legible. Top edge is guilt. 14 photogravure illustrations with tissue guards. Previous owner's bookplate on front paste down, and light wear to extremities, particularly bottom and top of spine, leaning slightly.
