London and Paris: Fisher, Son & Co. No date, circa 1840. No author, text attributed to G.N. Wright. Vol. I 80, 40 pp. with 48 engraved full-page plates and engraved title page, Vol.II, paginated 41-60, 48, 24, 24 pp., with 38 full-page plates and engraved title page, 88 engravings in all, both architectural and landscape views, with accompanying historical and descriptive text . Bound by E. Paul, Bookbinder, Southampton, their small binders tickets front paste downs, in contemporary half black morocco over black moire silk boards, the backs with gilt floral decorations, plain yellow end papers. Very Good Plus, some spots of browning to plates, mainly marginal, small chips to morocco bottom ends of spines, light rubbing at the tips. A handsome set with exquisite plates that are known for the characters in period costumes, and the places as they existed in that time. . First Edition. Half Morocco. Very Good Plus/No Jacket, As Issued. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
