New York: Horace Liveright, 1929. First Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine/Good. Edited by Hansell Baugh. Preface by James Branch Cabell. Near Fine in an about Good jacket, unclipped ($3.00), unevenly toned and soiled throughout, large chip to the top-right corner of the front panel, shallower chips throughout, split almost entirely down the rear flap fold. Quarter magenta cloth with purple cloth on the boards, pushed at the head and foot of the spine. Square and firmly bound, former owner's name inside the front board, toned at the front endpaper, clean otherwise. A collection of "frank and penetrating" letters from the author of The Hard-boiled Virgin and Death Lovers Are Faithful Lovers, including her correspondence with James Branch Cabell, Compton MacKenzie, H.L. Mencken, among others.
